Firewatch.io (“Firewatch”, “we”, “us”) is a web application for browsing and managing Google Cloud Firestore data. It is created and operated by Weverest Solutions LLC, Malden, Massachusetts, USA. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we handle data we access through Google APIs.

Summary

  • Your Firestore data goes directly between Google and your browser. It never passes through or is stored on Firewatch servers.
  • Your Google access token stays in your browser tab (session storage) until it expires or you close the tab. It is never sent to or stored by Firewatch servers.
  • We store only your basic profile (name, email, photo) and the list of Firebase projects you connect.
  • We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models.

Information we collect

  • Account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo URL, and store them with a unique user ID.
  • Connected projects. For each Firebase project you connect, we store its Google Cloud project ID, the display name you choose, and the Firestore database IDs you select. We do not store credentials or any of your Firestore data.
  • Plan information. Your plan (for example, “free”). If paid plans are offered, payments are processed by Stripe; we store Stripe customer and subscription identifiers but never your card details.
  • Local preferences. Your browser stores your sign-in session (Firebase Authentication) and simple preferences such as read-only mode. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
  • Usage analytics. We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-friendly, cookie-free service, to count page views and product events such as “project connected”. It does not use cookies, does not store IP addresses, and does not track you across sites. We never send Firestore data, document IDs, or project IDs to it.

Google user data

With your permission, Firewatch requests these Google OAuth scopes:

  • openid, email, profile: to sign you in and show your account.
  • firebase.readonly: to list the Firebase projects your Google account can access, so you can choose which to connect.
  • datastore: to read, create, update, and delete Firestore documents when you explicitly ask Firewatch to (for example, opening a collection, saving an edit, importing, or exporting).

Firewatch uses Google user data only to provide the features you use in the app. Requests to Google APIs are made directly from your browser with your own access token, so Firewatch can only access what your Google account is already permitted to access. Firestore data you view or change is not transmitted to, stored on, or logged by Firewatch servers. Exports are created in your browser and saved directly to your device.

We do not sell Google user data, use it for advertising, allow humans to read it (except with your explicit consent for support, for security purposes, or as required by law), or use it to develop or train AI or machine-learning models.

Firewatch's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

How we use information

  • To provide, maintain, and secure the service (for example, showing your connected projects and enforcing plan limits).
  • To respond to support requests.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

Sharing

We share information only with service providers that operate the service on our behalf:

  • Google (Firebase and Google Cloud): authentication, hosting, and storage of your account and connected-project list.
  • Stripe: payment processing, only if you purchase a paid plan.
  • Plausible Analytics: aggregated, cookie-free usage statistics.

We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or security of our users or others.

Retention and deletion

  • Disconnecting a project removes it from Firewatch immediately. Your Firebase project and its data are not affected.
  • To delete your Firewatch account and all associated information, email contact@weverest.com. We complete deletion requests within 30 days.
  • You can revoke Firewatch's access to your Google account at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

Security

We protect information with encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls that limit each user to their own records, and by not collecting customer Firestore data or Google access tokens in the first place. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.

Children

Firewatch is a developer tool and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their information.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information. To exercise them, contact us at contact@weverest.com.

Changes

We may update this policy. We will post the new version here and update the date above. Significant changes will be communicated in the app or by email.
