A Firestore admin GUI that respects your data
Firewatch is a Firestore viewer and editor for developers. Here's everything it does today.
Browse any collection
A Firestore data browser that stays fast on large collections.
- Collections listed live for every Firestore database in the project, including named databases.
- Accurate document counts from Firestore's COUNT aggregation. No sampling, no 1,000-document caps.
- Cursor-based pagination (25 to 250 rows per page) that doesn't re-read earlier pages.
- Columns from every document on the page, so sparse fields aren't hidden.

Filter and sort
Query your data without writing code.
- Filter by any field, including nested fields like address.city.
- Operators: ==, !=, <, <=, >, >=, starts with, array contains.
- Click a column to sort ascending or descending.
- When Firestore needs a composite index, Firewatch shows the link to create it.
Edit documents safely
A Firestore document editor that doesn't corrupt your data.
- Edit as JSON with Firestore types preserved: timestamps, references, geopoints, bytes, 64-bit integers, and whole-number doubles.
- Validation as you type, pointing at the exact field that's wrong.
- Saves are refused if the document changed since you opened it, so you never overwrite a teammate's edit.
- Removing a field in the editor deletes it from the document.

Delete with undo
Mistakes happen; recovering from them should be one click.
- Delete a single document or a selection, after confirmation.
- Undo restores the deleted documents, unless something new was written there since.
- Read-only mode hides every write action when you only want to look.
Import and export JSON
Move data between projects and databases without scripts.
- Export a whole collection to a lossless JSON file, straight from your browser.
- Import validates every document before writing anything.
- Existing documents are skipped by default; overwriting is an explicit choice.
- Clear results: written, skipped, and failed, with reasons.

Secure by design
Built so there's nothing sensitive for us to leak.
- Your browser calls Google directly; Firestore data and tokens never pass through Firewatch servers.
- Access is exactly your own IAM permissions, the same as the Firebase console.
- No service accounts or keys to create or upload.
